iPhone randomness

Thanks iCloud!  I love finding random pictures on my photo stream. Most of these were taken on the days I am at work!  Here is a sampling...

No "buddy" like a bro & sis!

The sign of a good nap

Paxton tosses and turns while he is going down for his naps.  But once his booty is in the air, I know it is lights out!  Ashlyn used to do the same thing.  In fact, she still sometimes does it! Love it!

Mommy Mae

I had no idea I could laugh so much at someone less than 3 years old!  This chick cracks me up!  Today I was doing something silly and Ashlyn looks at me and says "Mommy Mae"!  I guess that is what I say to her when she is being silly (or getting in trouble)..."Ashlyn Mae".  Too funny!

And so it begins

Ashlyn and her friend Hannah Kate did a free trial dance class at one of the studios here in Frisco.  The class was "creative movement" and it is for 2-3 year olds.  Ashlyn has been pretty excited to go, especially to wear her ballet shoes.  I wasn't sure what to expect when I had to leave the class but was glad Hannah Kate was in there with her.  She is a little shy when she is in a new social setting and it takes her a while to warm up.  The lobby area has televisions where you can watch your child's class.  Ashlyn did pretty much what I expected her to do.  She was very observant...she watched the teachers and the other kids and followed the instructions (lining up, sitting down, standing up, holding on to the bar, etc) but didn't do a lot of dancing.  No tears were shed, so that is a big step! Hannah Kate, on the other hand, felt right at home!  She ran around the entire class and kept the teacher on her toes :)  After the class the teacher came out and told us how they did.  She said Ashlyn was shy, but she could tell she would do well in there.  She said she didn't think HK was quite ready for the class.  Amanda, HK's mom, and I were a little shocked!  This was a creative movement class for 2-3 year olds...what is there to be "ready" for???  We decided (over margaritas) to try out another studio before we sign up because we really want the girls to go together.  The next one we are going to try starts classes in June so maybe both girls will be a little more "ready"!
Fingers in the mouth...her new thing when she gets shy
That's Hannah Kate, lying in front of the teacher...no shyness there!

Big boy dinner

I think my baby food making days are coming to an end.  I think this guy would eat a t-bone if I put it in front of him!  Dinner tonite...chicken, potatoes, green beans and carrots.  He crushed it!

Our old hood

We were in our "pre kids" neighborhood last night at dinner time so we decided to stop by one of our old favorites (no...it wasn't Crush, the wine bar...that shut down right around the time we moved.  Coincidence?) Taverna.  We sat out on the patio, had a wonderful dinner and ran into an old friend!

9 (1/2) month check-up

Paxton had his well visit today and he is growing like a weed!  He has already outgrown his infant car seat!  Here are his measurements:

Weight 20 lbs 13 ounces (45%)
Height 30 inches (92%)
Head 46.5 cm (80%)

His ears are no longer infected but he does still have a little fluid on them.  He still has the enlarged lymph nodes on the back of his head and a few in his neck and one under his arm but the doctor still isn't worried about them.  These are all normal places to have lymph nodes and they are small, not tender and moveable. We will just continue to watch them. He got the go ahead to pretty much eat everything (except honey, nuts and some fish).  He had to get one shot and have his blood taken to check for anemia.  All was good.  An all around good report!  Can't believe the next time we go back will be for his 1 year check up!

Unpinchable

I can't believe it has already been a year since I was on bed rest and we missed out on the St. Patty's Day festivities!  We made up for it this year!  We went to a family friendly party at the Vann's house!  What a blast!!!!  And my how times have changed...their house is right off of lower Greenville Ave where the parade and block party are held annually.  BK (before kids) we had some good times partaking in all of the action.  This year was just as much fun watching all the action as it paraded by the party.  Many trips, stumbles and falls were witnessed but thankfully...no barfing!  The kids (and parents) had a blast!  So much fun watching all the kids play together.  Already looking forward to this party  next year! Thanks Emily and Ted!
