4 months old

These months are flying by!  Seems like yesterday I was doing his 3 month update.  Slow down little guy!

Pax Facts:

Stats:
Height 26.25 inches (90%)
Weight 15lbs 7ozs (53%)
Head Circumference 42.2 cm (50%)

Eats:
Like a newborn!  Pretty much around the clock, every 3 hours.  He is one hungry guy!  But actually...he had a stretch of about 3 nights where he was only waking up once at night to eat.  Hoping that streak comes back soon!  Not sure if he is really hungry when he is waking or it is more of a habit.  He is still getting only breast milk...nursing and taking bottles.  When he does take a bottle he eats about 5 ounces.  I would like to start supplementing one feeding a day with formula but that is a little tricky because he seems to still be a little sensitive to dairy.  Our pediatrician said soy would be ok if it was only a bottle or two a day (because of the estrogen in soy...didn't go into details).  We are going to wait a little while longer before starting solids because he is doing so well on just milk for now.  He is still taking Prevacid for his reflux and it seems to help but he still spits up A LOT!  He also gets vitamin D.

Sleeps:
He is sleeping better at night and usually goes to sleep around 8:30.  We usually still swaddle him, but he busts out of it once he starts wiggling around.  I am not sure if he likes it or not, but he seems to sleep a little better.  He wakes up around 7:30.  He takes a nap in the morning for about 1.5 hours.  Depending on the day, that may be in the carseat, the moby wrap or in his crib.  He prefers to be held for his afternoon nap and will sleep for 2 hours unless you try and put him down!  He usually takes one or two more cat naps in the evening.

Wears:
Mostly size 3-6 month clothing.  Size 2 diapers, but we are quickly approaching size 3.  He hasn't had a single pair of shoes on his feet since he was born so I have no idea what size shoes he wears.

Other fun Pax facts:
He is spending more time in his Bumbo seat.  He loves his "play gym".  He is tolerating tummy time a little better now that he can prop himself up on his elbows and look around.  He hasn't quite rolled over yet, but he is getting very close to going from back to tummy.  He has found his feet and he LOVES them...and his hands and anything he can get his hands on!  Most things go in his mouth.  He has become a serious fan of the Moby wrap and loves to nap snuggled up to momma.  His hair is light brown and he has the nice bald spot on the back of his head from sleeping on his back.  His eyes are definitely changing from blue to a hazel/brown color.  Most people think he looks like his momma ;)  He is a pretty easy going boy these days, as long as you don't try and put him down for a nap!  He is a very light sleeper and has a tough time soothing himself back to sleep.  He loves to grab my necklace or my hair.  He is quite the talker.  He is enthralled with his sister and follows her around (with his eyes for now) where ever she goes.  He babbles, giggles and laughs all of the time!  He tunes into the TV much more than his sister ever did...or still does!  He is very ticklish!  He still likes to be in the mix and gets bored if he is left in the same spot or alone for too long.  He makes a grunting noise as he is falling asleep (while being rocked).  He has his momma wrapped around his chubby little finger.  I couldn't be more in love!

Happy Birthday Rah Rah

Aunt Rah Rah turned 25 so we had everyone over to celebrate!  I had to work so Pop Pop volunteered to bring dinner over.  Chance ventured out with both kids to get cupcakes and beverages for the celebration.  We had a great time and dinner was delicious!  Happy Birthday to a wonderful aunt and sister!  We love you!!

Cheers to Mimi

I stumbled across these pictures while I was updating the blog and thought it was too good to pass up!  Happy 60th Birthday Mimi!

Returning to work

After a lot of thinking and talking and calculating...Chance and I decided that we weren't going to send the kids to daycare.  We have worked our schedules out so that I am home with the kids during the week while he is at work and then I go to the work on the weekends while he stays home.  We are also so lucky to have 2 grandmothers in the area who come and stay with the kids so I can work 1 day a week.  I am working PRN (as needed...basically as much as I want because there is almost always a need).  The upside to PRN...a higher pay rate...the downside...no benefits.  Fortunately, Chance's benefits are awesome and VERY reasonable so we enrolled the whole family!  We are still trying to get settled into a routine, but so far it seems to be working out!  I will write more about it later, but for now...here are a few of the pictures I have received while I have been at work!
This was Ashlyn's impersonation of Mimi after she babysat one day.
I get the glasses on her head, but the tongue??
This was how Chance found Ashlyn one day at naptime

Laser update

Pardon the bed head and jammies, but this was a good close up picture of her cheek.  For as badly bruised and swollen as it was, it has gotten better very quickly!  This is what it looked like a few days ago.  It has gotten even better since!  Yay Dr. Burns!

A Moby fan!

Paxon is becoming quite a fan of the Moby Wrap! Thank goodness because it is really nice to have my hands free!

Chihuly and Pumpkins

We took a spur of the moment trip to the Arboretum to enjoy the Chihuly Exhibit and the pumpkins thanks to The Ivies!  It was a perfect evening!  Credit to Jessi for all of the pictures.  I didn't have my camera since this was totally unplanned!
Paxton enjoying some fresh air
Ashlyn didn't eat a bite at our picnic because
she was so excited to run around!
We grabbed BBQ for our picnic dinner
"I walk"
Pardon the running attire
Ashlyn (and the other girls) loved all of the water
Chris pulling the wagon
One of the Chihuly pieces
This was the best piece by far!  They dyed the water black
and it was a zero edge pond that overlooked the lake
Love this picture
Another awesome piece
And then there were the pumpkins!
Ryan and Emma
Cinderella's Chariot
Our princesses
And the sleeping prince
We tried to get a group shot, but this was the best we got!
A peanut sized pumpkin
Thanks for the tickets and the wonderful pictures, Jessi!
