Happy birthday Paxton!

We had a great day celebrating Paxton's actual birthday as a family!!
Going to bed 11 months and 30 days old!
Ready for the birthday boy!
Waking up a 1 year old!
A fun breakfast with blueberry muffins, silly glasses and birthday gifts!
The kids went to school after swimming lessons and Chance and I headed to work. Aunt Rah Rah joined us for dinner and another birthday celebration! She made an awesome scrapbook for Paxton that captured his first year. It is amazing!!
We had planned on a pizza party with a few friends for his birthday evening, but plans changed and we had to reschedule for Friday night! Oh well, another birthday celebration! Pizza and cupcakes (and beer and wine) with Paxton, Ashlyn, Cash, Wyatt and Hannah Kate! Another fun party and this boy is officially 1!

Pax Facts

Pax Stats
Height 31 inches (85%)
Weight 22 lbs 5 ozs (50%)
Head  47.5 cm (80%)

Eats-3 main meals with a couple snacks. He drinks water and milk from sippy cups but still takes a few bottles throughout the day as we wean those. Some of his favorite foods are bananas, string cheese, turkey, pancakes, macaroni and cheese, fig bars, yogurt and sweet potatoes. His favorite and biggest meal of the day is breakfast...although he is a very good eater.

Wears-size 4 diapers, size 12-18 months clothes and size 2-3 shoes (his feet seem small to me!)

Sleeps-Bedtime is around 7 and he sleeps through the night and is usually up between 6 and 7. When we are home, he takes a morning nap around 9:30, usually for an hour or two. He takes an afternoon nap between 1-2 for about 1.5 hours. His night time routine is pretty simple...bath, bottle, poems & prayers and then bed. He usually goes to sleep pretty well without much fuss. He still sleeps in his sleep sack and sucks on his paci frog.

What else is new-he is standing without holding on to anything, he has 4 teeth, he signs "more" by clapping his hands together, he says "bye, thank you, hi, mama, dada and ball". He gets a kick out of his sister and wants to be where ever she is. He loves "helping" unload the dishwasher and he loves emptying the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. He rarely sleeps in the car and if he does it is just a cat nap. He helps with dressing by holding his feet up and threading his arms through his shirts. He still loves bath time and playing in Ashlyn's room. I don't even bother trying to pick up toys when he is in the same room because he goes right behind me and pulls everything out/down again. He loves "sorting" laundry and eating popsicles (you could insert any word after eating and it would most likely be appropriate!). When I put food on his tray, he will survey his options and usually go for the meat or cheese first. He gives huge open mouth kisses. If there is a blanket or pillow on the floor, he will lay down and pretend to go to sleep.  He tunes into the TV more than Ashlyn ever did/does and loves to dance to music.  He still loves remotes, phones and balls.  He is not so crazy about having a toy taken away from him by his sister, having a door closed with him on the other side, having his diaper changed and getting strapped into his car seat.

I am a bad mom and didn't take his 12 month pictures :(  I also didn't schedule 1 year birthday pictures.  I am hoping we can have some family photos taken sometime this summer or early fall.  Parent of a second child fail!  Here are a few shots from his 1 year check-up.
It's been a wonderful 1st year Paxton Doyle. Looking forward to many, many more!

Dearest Paxton

Time flies when you are having fun! Well, maybe the first 6 months dragged a little when you ate around the clock and couldn't sleep unless you were held or on top of me! But I wouldn't change one second! When I was pregnant I wondered how there would be enough room in my heart, but from the moment you were placed on my chest I fell absolutely in love and all doubt was erased. Amazing how much the heart can hold! I didn't put you down for the first week of your life. I was smitten with such a handsome little thing! And you have continued to wrap me around those chunky little fingers! You are incredible...sweet, loving, brilliant, strong, funny, handsome, sensitive and so much more. I thank God every day that he sent you to complete our family. I can't imagine life without you! Happy 1st birthday Bubby! You make my heart happy and content. I love you more than you could ever imagine!

Love, laughter and peace,
Mommy

The tummy bug

The girls went down first, Sunday.  I got sick at work, but stuck it out...not fun!  Ashlyn barfed 8 times in 8 hours.  That's a lot for that little body.  She couldn't keep anything down!  Chance and Paxton were fine on Sunday, but Chance went down Monday morning at 3 am.  It was rough!  The good news was it only lasted 12 hours...it was a rough 12 hours!

Paxton and Chance ventured out to the store to keep us girls hydrated
Poor baby couldn't even keep a popsicle down

Here are the rest of the pictures from the 3rd&1 birthday party!  Once again...it was a great celebration.  Thanks to all of our family and friends for your help!  It was an unforgettable party!
