Froyo weather

Had a little time to kill while we waited on Chance to get home from work.  The weather has been getting warmer so we thought we should cool off!

Pax polished off his yogurt much more quickly than Ashlyn did (shocking, I know) and she was sharing her last few bites with him.  So sweet!

Check-up at the dentist.  She wasn't so sure about it at first, but by the end she was all smiles.  A- on her report card...a little more flossing, but overall she is doing great!

Side note...2nd child syndrome...as we were walking back to the cleaning area, a hygienist stopped us and asked me how many teeth Paxton had (she wanted to give him a toothbrush).  I must have looked stumped because she said "He does have teeth, doesn't he?".  Of course he has teeth, I just have no idea how many he has!!!  At least I brush them...most days!  A second side (make-up) note...I tried being very proactive and making his first dental appointment with Ashlyn and they said no need to bring him in until he is 2!

Game 1

Game 1 of the Love Bugs season is in the books!  It was a brisk 40 degrees but the girls didn't care!  They had a great time.  Ashlyn stayed on the field when it was her turn to play and even chased the ball around a bit.  She is not aggressive at all...if someone comes running towards her she will freeze.  But I was proud of her for staying on the field and running around.  No parents are allowed on the field...only the coach.  Coach Ryan is awesome for the record!!!! So good with the girls!!!

With 2 kids, 2 jobs, 2 dogs, building a house and just life in general...it doesn't happen nearly as often as it should, but when it does we make up for lost time!  Fun night out in Ft. Worth!

Had to add another one...we were heading to the park and she took her shoes off (maybe to smell her feet again?!) and I told her to put her shoes back on because we were almost there.  She was struggling to get her shoe on and said "I can't get it over my foot elbow".  I think she meant ankle but didn't know the word!  Foot elbow...ha!

And one from my little man...I heard doors slamming so I walked down the hallway and said "don't slam the door again!"  Slam slam slam.  I opened the door and said "Guys!  What did I just say?"  Paxton looked at me, as serious as he could be and said "guys"!  Ha!!!

My new blogging style

Over the holidays my plate became overloaded (literally and figuratively).  I got very behind with our blog.  I have continued to put it off, getting further and further behind because I just can't find the time to catch up.  I have to decided to fast forward to the present...maybe one day I will get November 2013-February 2014 in the book, but for now I am moving forward!  I have also decided that every blog post doesn't have to be elaborate or have a bunch of pictures. So from now on it may just be a quick bite about the kids or a cute picture or whatever!  I keep this blog for my millions of readers...HA!!!...for a few family and friends but It mostly to document Ashlyn and Paxton!  So here's to "Keeping Up With The Wimberlys"...hopefully!

We were driving in the car and Ashlyn says, "let's play a game".  I excitedly suggested the "quiet game" and explained how to play.  Ashlyn immediately said "you win...let's play the LOUD game"!  She cracks me up...every.single.day!

Mom of the year 2014

No "mom of the year" application is complete without "locked my daughter and the keys in the car"!  And if that wasn't bad enough...we happened to be at our first soccer practice with our new team.  Nothing like making a great 1st impression!!!  Thank God Chance was home from work earlier than usual.  He grabbed the spare keys and freed Ashlyn (within about 10 minutes)!  She kept her cool the whole time.  Rock star!
