The High Lonesome Lodge

Mimi and PaJ rented a cabin in Hochatown, OK for our family for an awesome summer vacation!  The cabin was beautiful and absolutely perfect for our family, complete with a pool table, hot tub, private pond and wrap around deck.  We had such a great time enjoying good food and drinks, outdoor fun and just relaxing. We all took turns preparing meals and enjoyed some of the local fare as well.  Hochatown is a quaint little town near Beaver's Bend complete with antique stores, the famous Girls Gone Wine (which happened to be RIGHT across the road from our cabin) and locally owned restaurants.  We spent lot of time in the state park enjoying their water activities, horseback riding, train and museum.  A few in our group came down with a stomach virus (that I may or may not have brought with me) one day that put a damper on some of our plans.  But everyone rallied and we finished up the vacation strong!  It was such a great time.  I can't wait to go back!
Road trippin'
A quick stop at Braum's on our way

She was so excited, she would not nap in the car on our way.
She finally feel asleep as we rolled into town.
We spent many hours in this "warm" tub
Silly Big Bert
These girls had so much fun!
Fun at the museum

More silliness
Chance's prize find at the local Wal-mart
Side note:  we made daily (sometimes twice daily) trips to the local Wal-mart for one reason or another. One of my favorite quotes of the week was from Big Bert "Can we vacation at the Wal-mart in the Rockies next year"!
Chance staying cool while grilling out
Who brought Tequila?
More hot tub fun!
One of my favorite pictures from the trip.  She looks so grown up!
Another of my favorites :)
We stopped by the local fudge shoppe one afternoon while we were antique shopping. I picked up a box of Jelly Belly's "Bean Boozled".  It is a box of Jelly Bellies with very misleading flavors.  One flavor is strawberry and one is canned dog food.  They are both the same color so you do not know which flavor you are getting as you bite into the jelly bean.  We probably spent an hour eating these silly jelly beans...laughing our heads off!  Here are some of the hilarious pictures (sorry for the blurriness) of the disgusting jelly beans!
Some outdoor fun at Beaver's Bend State Park
Back home for more swimming, fishing and roasting marshmellows
Chance's award winning fire
Father's Day snuggles
Enjoying our last night in the hot tub
And finally...the accommodations were amazing but Paxton is such a light sleeper...we put his pack-n-play in our very spacious bathroom for a quieter night's sleep for everyone!  He was a trooper!
Can't wait to go back again soon!  Thanks Mimi&PaJ for a wonderful vacation!
PS...more pics to come from my camera when our computer situation is remedied!
