Our new pad

My awesome husband scored us the deal of the century!  We are currently leasing a 4000 sq ft loft downtown from his buddy Donnie Nelson (yes, GM of the Dallas Mavericks...the man responsible for bringing us Dirk Nowitski) while we look for a new home.  We were virtually homeless since our house sold so quickly.  We tossed around several ideas from renting a furnished apartment, staying in an extended stay hotel, crashing with Aunt Gayle and commuting from Arlington staying with Gma and Gpa (and Aunt Sarah).  Each idea had it pros and cons and we weighed them all heavily, trying to make the best decision.  One afternoon Chance called me and said, "I found us a place to stay".  Don Nelson's (Donnie's dad) loft is empty and Donnie will make us a good deal on renting it.  No contracts, no deposits (pet or otherwise), no switching over utilities, no notices!  It all sounded too good to be true.  The loft is pretty cool, complete with a wall of TV's (for game watching), a cigar/poker room with a floor to ceiling wine fridge, great views of downtown dallas, a fish tank in the master shower and a gourmet kitchen!  It is completely furnished and wonderful!  While we aren't quite used to urban living, we are enjoying this exciting temporary chapter of our life!  We are all thrilled to be able to  spread out a little bit!  Nice work, honey!  Now we are really MFFL!

Our views of downtown!

I will post more pics of the inside of the loft once I get them!  PS...our new mailing address is PO BOX 600817 Dallas, TX 75360!

It's ok Genevieve

I witnessed one of the sweetest acts today from our precious peanut when I went to pick her up from school.  She was sitting in Ms. Lydia's lap when I walked in, fussing a little.  Ms. Lydia said, "You will never believe it, but they have all been fussy this afternoon!  They woke up from their naps that way."  Well, sweet 4 month old Genevieve was no exception.  She was lying in her crib crying.  I started talking to her, saying "What's the matter Genevieve?"  Ashlyn crawled over to her crib and sat there listening to Genevieve cry.  She looked up at me and then pointed to Genevieve.  Then she pulled up into standing using her crib for assistance.  She put her little arm through the bars of her crib and started patting and rubbing Genevieve's leg, very gently as if telling her "It's ok Genevieve".  It was too sweet!

Ready, set, SOLD!

It literally happened that quickly!  We put our house on the market on Monday, July 4th.  Our first showing was on Tuesday, the 5th.  They looked at it twice that day!  They put in an offer, we went back and forth a few times and by the end of the week we had a contract!  The rest of the month was busy with inspections, contractors, deciding where we were going to move, packing and moving.  We have been looking for a new house, but haven't found anything that we both really love yet.  We will more than likely end up in Frisco, where we can get more space for our money and feel comfortable with Ashlyn going to public school.  Chance put out a few calls and found us an awesome loft to rent while we find our next home!  I will post more details about our new pad in another post.  It was bittersweet selling our house.  It was our first home, we worked very hard updating it and it was the place we brought our daughter home to.  Lots of memories in that house, but we are anxious to start another chapter as a family.  Here are some before and after photos of our house.  We will miss you 6560 Danbury Lane!
