18 month check-up with Developmental MD

We had our routine check-up with the developmental doctor today.  Ashlyn got a great report!  She is really catching up with her motor milestones and she is right on track with most things.  The only area that she is a little behind is her vocabulary.  The doctor isn't worried about it and thinks that since she was a late walker, she will be a late talker.  She thinks her brain has been too busy working on her mobility that she isn't focused on talking.  She did several puzzles/activities while we were there and she did great with all of them!  The doctor assured me that she should grow out of the "putting everything in her mouth" phase soon.  I really hope so!  She is right on track with her growth curve.  It is still to early to tell how tall she will possibly be and right vs left handed changes up to 3 years old!  Overall, she had a really good check-up.  We go back at her 2nd birthday to follow up on her vocabulary.
