I think my baby food making days are coming to an end. I think this guy would eat a t-bone if I put it in front of him! Dinner tonite...chicken, potatoes, green beans and carrots. He crushed it!

Our old hood
We were in our "pre kids" neighborhood last night at dinner time so we decided to stop by one of our old favorites (no...it wasn't Crush, the wine bar...that shut down right around the time we moved. Coincidence?) Taverna. We sat out on the patio, had a wonderful dinner and ran into an old friend!

9 (1/2) month check-up
Paxton had his well visit today and he is growing like a weed! He has already outgrown his infant car seat! Here are his measurements:
Weight 20 lbs 13 ounces (45%)
Height 30 inches (92%)
Head 46.5 cm (80%)
His ears are no longer infected but he does still have a little fluid on them. He still has the enlarged lymph nodes on the back of his head and a few in his neck and one under his arm but the doctor still isn't worried about them. These are all normal places to have lymph nodes and they are small, not tender and moveable. We will just continue to watch them. He got the go ahead to pretty much eat everything (except honey, nuts and some fish). He had to get one shot and have his blood taken to check for anemia. All was good. An all around good report! Can't believe the next time we go back will be for his 1 year check up!

Unpinchable
I can't believe it has already been a year since I was on bed rest and we missed out on the St. Patty's Day festivities! We made up for it this year! We went to a family friendly party at the Vann's house! What a blast!!!! And my how times have changed...their house is right off of lower Greenville Ave where the parade and block party are held annually. BK (before kids) we had some good times partaking in all of the action. This year was just as much fun watching all the action as it paraded by the party. Many trips, stumbles and falls were witnessed but thankfully...no barfing! The kids (and parents) had a blast! So much fun watching all the kids play together. Already looking forward to this party next year! Thanks Emily and Ted!

Love these gals
These girls have been some of my best friends for almost 17 years now! If that doesn't make me feel old! I stole this picture from Abby. It was taken at Ella & Wells' birthday party. We can go months without seeing each other in person and we never skip a beat. Friends forever!!! Looking forward to our girls weekend in July!

Ashlyn's developmental check-up
Because she was a preemie, Ashlyn has been followed by a developmental doctor just to make sure she is on track. Our visits are pretty much down to every year unless there are any concerns. Her growth is good...she is still "petite" but has stayed right along her little growth curve. Her motor (fine and gross) skills are right on target for her age. Her feet are one thing we have been watching and they seem to be getting stronger. She is pretty much barefoot all day unless we go outside. And even then I try and let her go without shoes if it is safe. Her comprehension and problem solving are both age appropriate but her speech is a little behind. Notice I do not say expression because she has no problem expressing herself. This girl is a character! She just has a little trouble getting her mouth to move the right way to make the sounds come out. We are going to see a speech language pathologist for an evaluation to determine if she needs a little therapy or to give us some "homework". She is in the window for language development and I just really don't want her to get behind. It was a great appointment and she isn't scheduled to go back until she is 4 for her preschool testing!! Wow!

Double ear infections
Well, we made it almost 9 months and through cold and flu season without any illnesses so I cannot complain...but his first bout of sickness has been a doozie! It started the day we left for vacation (of course). He had a cold while we were gone and I was suspecting he was getting an ear infection. I took him to the doctor when we got home and sure enough DOUBLE ear infections. Poor guy. We started an antibiotic and he was still sick a week later! I took him back to the doctor and when I undressed him, he had a full body rash. Good timing! The doctor felt pretty certain it was a reaction to the Augmentin (penicillin based) and he switched his antibiotics because he left ear was still infected! The rash continued to get worse so I took him back to the doctor 2 days later and the doctor confirmed it was an allergic reaction. We started Benadryl and oatmeal baths and he was much better in a day or so. Chance and I are both allergic to penicillin, but Ashlyn has been fine with it. Because of this allergy and the fact that he has had double ear infections already (and 1 that didn't respond to the antibiotics) I think we will have a lower threshold for an ENT consultation for the tubes talk. They have been a lifesaver for Ashlyn so I wouldn't hesitate with Paxton! Praying this guy feels better soon!

Ella & Wells turn 1!
We spent the afternoon celebrating our favorite twins birthday! The weather was awesome until the sun went down...then it got a little windy and chilly. Kourtny threw an awesome 1st birthday party complete with a taco bar, cerveza for the moms and pops, kites, toys and the cutest favors! It was fun catching up with everyone and celebrating these two cutie pies! Happy Birthday Ella & Wells! We love you!
PS...Ashlyn LOVES birthday and LOVES singing happy birthday. We had to call Aunt Nay Nay to find out in what order we would be saying their names when we sang to them at the party so we could practice! Ladies 1st...Ella & Wells!

Ashlyn had a blast! Here are a few cute pictures, after the sun went down! Paxton still wasn't feeling too great, so he was bundled up with Daddy for most of the party!
