Happy New Year 2012

We celebrated Christmas in Emory over New Year's weekend.  We woke up Saturday morning and headed to Canton.  The weather was perfect, there we NO crowds and lots of sales!  We had a great time, until Gabby (a friend of the family) got hit by a car crossing the street back to the parking lot!  They loaded her up in an ambulance and took her to the hospital, just to be safe.  VERY luckily, she had no injuries...it just shook us all up a bit!  We celebrated New Year's Eve around the fire pit at the grotto.  PaJ has the grotto looking amazing!  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures down there.  I was a little preoccupied keeping Ashlyn away from the fire.  Our second mishap of the day occured when Ashlyn face planted off the picnic table bench on to the concrete floor!  We all saw it coming, but couldn't move quickly enough.  Thankfully, she put her arms out to protect her face!  She bit her lip, but other than that, was just a little scared.  I just imagined a broken arm or a missing tooth.  Again, another close call.  We enjoyed the fire for a while, the guys smoked a brisket and we were all in bed by 10:30.  Happy New Year!  Sunday morning was an early duck hunt, brunch, Christmas presents and another wonderful meal!  We loaded up in time to make it home for the Cowboy's game (if you could call it that).  It was a great weekend!
