Ashlynisms

I wanted to document a few of the things that Ashlyn is saying right now!

Most used phrase:  “I did it!” (said with a high pitched squeal) followed closely with “mine, this, that and more”

All liquids are milk which is pronounced “Nilk” which sounds like a wanna be Italian attempting to say “Gnocchi”  You would have to hear it to understand.

She refers to animals by the sounds they make and anything standing in a pasture alongside a road is a moo.

A bug is a bite…and anything dark and small laying on the ground is a bite…freckles are also bites or sometimes boo boos.

All of her niceties; excuse me, bless you, I love you and I’m sorry, sound the same and mostly resemble “wuv woo”.

Sunglasses are “eyes”

When asked what her name is she usually says “Me”

She has mastered holding up 2 fingers and says “Two” when asked her age. 

When I ask her in the mornings if she had sweet dreams, she always says “Yes” and she always dreams about “Daddy”.  He is also first on her prayer list at bedtime. 

She has made up several of her own signs for words she doesn’t say and they usually mimic the action or item she wants ie: for paci she opens her mouth and points inside while grunting “uh uh uh”.  When she wants to wash her hands with the sanitizer she rubs her hands together while grunting the same way.  Brushing her teeth is gestured by running her index finger along her top teeth and so on. 

She loves singing happy birthday and always blows out the make believe candles

When asked a question her response 99% of the time is“Yes” unless the question has to do with naptime or bedtime then it is a profound “NO!”

She has NO problem expressing herself and she is constantly talking, even when we have no idea what she is saying!  She is pretty darn cute.  And her brother is proving to be quite vocal himself!  Not a lot of silence around the house the days J!
