Thanksgiving 2010

We had an unusually relaxing Thanksgiving this year. I was off work on Wednesday and Thursday so we packed up and headed to Emory for some R&R. We spent some quality time with Mimi & PaJ. We haven't done that in a while, because we are always on the go. Chance & PaJ attempted to go duck hunting, but their weren't many birds. That 4:30 wake up call was tough and we may have had a little too much wine the night before. We planned on having Thanksgiving as a family with Teresa & Robert and the kids but they were not feeling well and had been exposed to strep throat...eeek! Grandma Sally wasn't up to making the trip so Thanksgiving dinner ended up being the 5 of us. It felt very weird not having them there, but we will make up for it at Christmas.

We have so much to be thankful for this year (as we do every year) but this year is very special. Our little family grew with the addition of Ashlyn Mae. We consider ourselves very blessed. It was a rocky road getting her here, but now she is a healthy & happy baby. When I look back on the whole experience, the other thing I am thankful for is our support system. We have the greatest family and friends on Earth! The love and support we had as we walked down that rocky road was amazing. We couldn't have made it with out all of the love, prayers, thoughts, help, visits, phone calls, texts, flowers, food, cards and gifts. It was unbelievable. I hope we expressed our gratitude because we are truly thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving!
