2 year check-up with developmental doctor
We had a check-up with the developmental doctor yesterday who has been following Ashlyn since she was in the NICU. We received a great report and the few things that I was concerned about are things that we will just keep an eye on. I was mostly concerned about her speech and she is a little behind, but has been making a lot of progress over the past month so the doctor isn't too concerned. Ashlyn is still in the window for language development. I was also concerned about her feet and how much they pronate. She feels like it is still residual weakness and slight hypotonicity due to her prematurity. We will do things to continue to strengthen the muscles and keep an eye on that as well. Other than those few things, she did awesome! She is pretty much on target with all of the gross motor milestones and is long and lean! We will touch base with her again after the summer and consider formal intervention (ECI-speech and physical therapy) if needed.
